25 year old Jannick Andersen from Denmark is one of the rising DJ-talents of the progressive scene where he, known under the alias pr0fane, is getting massive recognition both nationally as well as internationally.
Jannick has been a DJ since 2002, and since 2006, he is also a label-DJ for Iboga Records. His love and interest for electronic music already started back in the 80's but it wasn't until 1997 he discovered psychedelic trance, and since then he has been a loyal follower of this scene.
He is a very dedicated and passionate DJ, and one who considers DJ'ing both an art form and a serious technical craft. In his own words: "I try to constantly test my boundaries and always try to explore new sounds, without of course loosing the feel for the nostalgic and emotional - good music never gets out of style.
I also take an honour in never limiting myself to one particular sub-sub-sub-genre of music: to me, a good DJ-set should not only be about playing 20 similar-sounding dancefloor "killers" in a row - it should be a journey: evolving, influencing the listener and moving through different emotions and soundscapes, dependant on the setting, time and crowd. That is my main motivation to keep on playing - to create and be a part of those magic moments on the dancefloor where you just go with the music, and let it lead the way."
As a representative for Iboga his musical repertoire of course includes the latest and freshest progressive psychedelic trance, but he also has a love for more house-influenced sounds: from emotional and trance-influenced melodic progressive to phat electro house or deep, hypnotic minimal or tech house. At the right time and setting, he also likes to play full on morning sounds, and he is also a very capable chillout and downbeat-DJ, as he sees this as both very challenging and independent of the boundaries of the dancefloor.
Over the years he has played at some of the best clubs and venues all over Denmark, plus in countries like England, Turkey and Germany.
